Usar XFree86 con una ATI Rage Fury Maxx

La tarjeta gráfica ATI Rage Fury Maxx aparentemente no está soportada por XFree86, pero se logra poner a funcionar. Solo hace falta poner en el archivo de configuración de las "X" -- o meterlo en el campo de opciones adicionales de "card configuration" en el XF86Setup -- la siguiente línea:

ChipID 0x524

Lo que hace posible que el servidor "X" sea capaz de hacer uso de la aceleración 2D que ya lleva implementada para las ATIs con chipset Rage128.

No veas lo que me costó encontrar eso! El framebuffer es una tortura. ...aceleracion 3d en la próxima receta :) ----------- Os adjunto mi archivo de configuracion de las "X".
